1. SELFISH IS NOT A CURSE WORD
You need to acknowledge and be okay with putting yourself and your needs first sometimes.
2. SUPPORT CIRCLE
Find a group of people who have your back—emotionally, professionally, and personally and listen to them when they are pushing you to have downtime or offering you advice.
3. SIT-DOWN
There are times when you need to do absolutely nothing. No review of paperwork, no responding to emails, not taking meetings. Every now and then, take at least a day or more to not think about work and binge watch that show you have missed during the regular season for work, read that novel everyone was talking about, or just get some sleep.
4. SELF-ASSESS
Decide if you are truly doing the work you set out to do. Shift course if needed to make sure your passion and purpose are aligned because doing the work you dreamed about doing will keep you from being burnt out even when you are overwhelmed.
5. SAY NO
As one of my good friends told me “No is a complete sentence”. It is necessary to not take on every opportunity because there is too much of a good thing. Be strategic in what you agree to and make sure it leads you to your goal versus just taking up your time.
6. SPEND TIME WITH THOSE WHO LOVE YOU FOR YOU
Those who embrace your authentic self even outside of your business persona. They keep your grounded and will be those who matter the most in your long-term success and sanity.

Amazing images! And, yes being selfish is necessary at times.
